It is when people interact with each other that prejudices are erased and development takes place. Under the theme “North East – an untapped knowledge bank”, the Chamber of Commerce of West Sweden arranged a special tram ride – Spånvagnen. (a play on the words in Swedish for tram = spårvagn, and “spåna” = to think about, with the purpose of finding solutions) -with the destination of Angered, an area within Gothenburg mainly inhabited by immigrants. The purpose was to meet young job hunters from Angered, share perspectives and learn from each other. Along on the ride were business representatives from some of the leading companies in Gothenburg.
-We are curious to get feedback from a target group we are not used to meeting. In return, we hope to give inspiration, perhaps for future employment, says Johan Trouvé, CEO of West Swedish Chamber of Commerce.
The rolling venue left Korsvägen (in central Gothenburg) for Angered on September 26th, 2012.
The project is a collaboration between the West Swedish Chamber of Commerce, the Employment Agency in Angered, the property manager Higab, the educational company Eductus, the architecture firm White Architects, and IntersectionPoint.
The invention “Spånvagnen” is a result of the IntersectionPoint workshop held at Visual Arena, Lindholmen Science Park, on April 18th 2012.
